NETWORK OF GIVING

PRIVACY STATEMENT

Your privacy and the privacy of information you supply to us relating to you or your organization is important to Network of Giving. As a user of our web site, individuals have the ability to make donations to the charitable organizations of your choice that have registered to participate on our site. Unless you indicate otherwise by opting out (see Choice/Opt Out below), we collect personal information and may provide the same to the charitable organizations that participate on our site. Please note that we are not responsible for how the organizations use your information with these organizations. As such, you should not provide personal information that you are not comfortable with sharing with these organizations.

Please remember that any information that you reveal in a public forum (such as a bulletin board, mail list, chat room/event) is not subject to this Privacy Policy and will be seen by third parties not related to Network of Giving and may be used by them to contact you for unauthorized purposes. Also, if you link to a third party site from Network of Giving, any information you reveal on that site is not subject to this Privacy Policy. You should consult the privacy policies of each site you visit prior to disclosing personal information.

This Privacy Policy applies solely to the information we collect on this web site and does not apply to information we collect in any other fashion.

Personal Information We Collect

We collect information in the following areas: (1) registration, including contact information (such as an email address); (2) personal information such as name, address and phone number, (3) donor preferences, and (4) financial information such as bank account and credit card information. Please note that your bank and credit card information will not be furnished to any charitable organization.

We may also collect information that donors voluntarily provide to us through responses to surveys, questionnaires and the like.

We also collect information about you and your use of our site through the use of Cookies. "Cookies" are small computer files that we transfer to your computer's hard drive that allow us to know how often someone visits our site and the activities they conduct while on our site (such as the chatrooms you visited, etc.). This information helps us dynamically generate advertising and content on web pages specifically designed for you and also allows us to statistically monitor how many people are using our site and for what purpose. Cookies are not used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer. You may have the ability to accept or decline Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept Cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline all Cookies if you prefer. Alternatively, you may be able to modify your browser setting to notify you each time a Cookie is tendered and permit you to accept or decline Cookies, however, that may hinder performance and negatively impact your experience on this web site.

Use of Web Beacons

Certain web pages may contain electronic images known as web beacons (sometimes called single-pixel gifs) that allow us to count users who have visited certain pages and to deliver co-branded services. Web beacons are not used to access your personally identifiable information on the web site. Rather, they are a technique used to compile aggregate statistics about web site usage.

Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including cookie number, time and date of a page view, and a description of the page on which the web beacon resides.

Private E-mail

Network of Giving strongly encourages individuals who do not wish to receive information at their primary e-mail address (e.g., place of work) to open a personal e-mail account at any of the many sites offering free Internet e-mail accounts.

Choice/Opt-Out

Users have the option of removing their personal information from our database, to not receive future communications or to no longer use our service. If you opted to receive newsletters, commercial e-mails or other communications from Network of Giving or third parties, but subsequently change your mind, you may opt-out. If you previously opted not to receive such communications, you may later opt-in. Please send e-mail to Network of Giving relating to any such changes. Please specify the change you want. The change will be effective once we have an opportunity to process your request.

Security

Commercially reasonable precautions are taken to protect your personal information. When a user opts to make donations to charitable organizations, those transactions take place in a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) environment. User credit card information is encrypted and protected by encryption software. When the user is on a secure page, such as the donation form, they should notice that the lock icon on the bottom of their browser (Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer) becomes locked, as opposed to unlocked, or open, when the user is in an unsecure environment.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect your information off-line. All user information is restricted in our offices, not just the sensitive information referred to above. Only employees who need the information to perform their job (for example, a billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to that information. Our employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place upon privacy, and what they can do to ensure your information is protected.

Despite all our efforts to protect your information, we cannot guarantee that unauthorized third parties will never be able to defeat these measures, gain access to your personal information or use your personal information for improper purposes.

Children

Our service and web site is not intended for children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
